WORK ALGEMENE BESCHOUWINGEN

Alternative poster for election in Nederland. “Life is short. Have an affair” On the infamous toeslagenaffaire of the Rutte 2 Cabinet.

MUT ZUR WUT

We made two posters for Mut Zur Wut. The first titled “Black Person On Board!”, the idea behind it was based on my experiences growing up near a EU border and having heard the eperiences of people of color that were often randomly stopped by police border controls. Based on the “Baby On Board!” stickers and signs, the black person on board sign communicates and redirects a feeling of I see you seeing me. It communicates a counter message, we know what is going on, but law enforcement will brush it of as coincidental.

The second poster discusses child labor, “My Shirt? Only 5,- Like The Child That Made it”, and shines a light on child labor and bad working enviroments, mostly sold in high street shops to this day.

AFFISCHE KUNSTEN

Not only did COVID-19 change our lifestyle, it also left a stain on our media use, consumerism, and what we wear and use.To visualise this for our editorial spread in @stichtingaffichekunsten we, by the use of recognizable lockdown items, patterns and symbols, applied the corona monocle bacteria as a stamp that shapes our lockdown life. Lui-lock-down-land is word play on the famous dutch “luilekkerland” also known as Cockaigne, the place where everything we need is within arms distance.
